Everything is Better in PINC

I attended the PINC (Printing Industries of Northern California) Conference yesterday. It is the annual trade show and party for the paper and printing industry. It's always a good time, but this year was a big success, I feel.
There usually is a day of workshops, then a trade show and party in the evening. The theme this year was Hawaiian and, of course, you can picture in your mind what type of motif that theme entailed.
I attended a few of the workshops offered - a tutorial on Acrobat 7, a rather boring and esoteric talk on how to communicate with printers, and a great discussion on the ins and outs of annual report design. I really am interested in getting into that area of the profession. It's something new and something I think I could be good at.
Anyway, the day is always fun-filled and a lot of food and drink are had by all. Since I am not a drinker anymore, I don't partake in the free alcohol, but I don't have to.
Michael Schwab designed and illustrated the poster for the event this year which was fantastic. He always comes up with fantastic imagery and his style is beautiful.
What do you think? Do you attend industry events? Do you think they're worthwhile or not? Please post your thoughts and feelings here as we'd love to hear from you. Mike
